DetailsBy popular demand, this leaflet is available as a downloadable product. For classic baby afghans featuring the look of ever-popular Aran fisherman knit patterns, choose one of these six crochet designs by Mary Jane Protus.
Each is crocheted in one piece but gives the appearance of being created with panels of different textured patterns: cable, honeycomb, popcorn, diamond, twist, ridge, heart, basketweave, tree, braided, and lattice panels.
All six afghans are crocheted using baby sport weight yarn and a size E (3.50 mm) crochet hook. Diagrams are included for 13 special stitches (popcorns, posts, cables, and twists) that create the Aran patterns.
The designs are Honeycomb and Cables, Pretty Diamonds, Open Cables, Popcorn Hearts, Tree of Life, and Twists and Turns.

- Easy Arans
I love Aran styles but really don't like knitting as much as crochet. This books solves everything for me when I give a gift of an Aran blanket to new parents. These could also be enlarged for an "adult-sized" afghan with a little math.
I think these afgans are beautiful. Can't wait for someone I know to have a baby!!!!
- Been making these for years!
I have the original version of this leaflet and I absolutely love making these Adghans! I have changed the yarn and used a larger hook and made "full-size"' afghans from these patterns too! Great booklet!
- Wonderful Baby Patterns
I really love crocheting baby items, and prefer the "not so usual" patterns. These are different and I know that when I make them, I will not see everyone else with it!
