Critter Creativity

This last weekend turned out to be the perfect weekend for crocheting/reading in the backyard. Pretty weather, cool enough to wear a sweater, and the critters were out.

Can’t help but appreciate this moth on the oak tree. It was as big as my hand and such a beautiful color!

Love the little green lizard climbing the deck railing. (Have you figured out yet that I really like green?)

Check out the turtle (or tortoise—as the Love-Of-My-Life insists). It was headed off to hide in my daylily patch (which should start blooming any day now).

Being able to sit outside and study the critters makes me remember that it’s almost time for the kids to be out of school for the summer. Rather than letting them camp out in front of the TV with their phones clutched in their hands, how about getting them started on some critter creativity? Check out—Pompom Crafts by Susan Lewis and Pom-Pom Magnets by Dick Martin for some easy inspiration.
