I stared at that super bulky weight yarn for awhile after the kid went to hide in her room and thought about books and patterns, but I couldn’t come up with any right off the top of my head, so (you’d be proud of me—novice crocheter that I am) I just grabbed my P hook and started experimenting!
Here’s what I came up with. It’s very much a beginner project with double crochets and a few ch1 stitches, but I really like the end result. It just flew off my hook in no time—’cause, you know, big hook + big yarn = fast project! I like fast.
Are you looking for a quick and easy pattern for a last minute handmade gift? Well, here you go! In honor of the occasion of the creation of my very first ever crochet design, I thought I’d share my Bulky Scarf pattern with you—my loyal readers:

In the meantime, I’m already half way through my second scarf with a third (in purple) on the horizon! Happy crocheting!!!
I haven't crocheted in years but I think I may be making a few of these for Christmas gifts. Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern and inspiring me.
Wow! What a quick project! Scarf done in a couple hours (and I make a pork roast dinner in those couple hours too!)
Awesome! I bet it's really pretty. (I mean the scarf, but the roast is probably a sight to behold as well!)
