Some Weekend Thoughts

The blog now has 666 followers!  This tickles me.

I found out I'm going to have a nephew!  I had planned to make most of my baby gifts gender-neutral, especially since I want my little girl and her cousin to have matching items, but I know I'll definitely be making some sweet little sweaters in 'boy' colors!

I really hope I can get started on this carrot stocking this weekend.  I bought Crocheted Christmas Stockings and I AM going to find a reason to hang out a carrot stocking.  That's just all there is to it.  I've decided that I both need to make this and I just plain need it.

If you think you don't need this, I feel bad about your life.

The Christmas in July sale is still going on for a few more days on the Leisure Arts website! Check it out here!

Is it really almost August?  What happened to the summer?

Now that July is nearly over, I think I should be honest.  I don't think I'm going to finish the Sapphire Wrap in the next 5 days.  I'm not a very fast Tunisian crocheter.  Oh well. I think I have a few more months of warm weather before this is actually needed.

Now that I'm thinking about the year ending (yes, I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself), I'm remembering that I once promised to myself that I would learn to knit mittens this year.  I still have no desire to do so.  But I did pick up some sock yarn on sale a few weeks ago and there was something about that yarn....  I wanted to knit it into socks.  This has never happened to me before!  But now it's a few weeks later and I have the yarn, the needles, and I Can't Believe I'm Knitting Socks.  I really want to make socks now!

I've also been doing a lot of thinking about the Rainbow Afghan

I think my sister's December baby will need to keep warm.  I'm not sure if I want to stick with the traditional colors, or make mods like some super creative crocheters have done.  Either way, I should probably stop writing about my plans and queuing up patterns, and get to work on some of these projects!

Have a happy crafting weekend!
