Embroidery! A whimsical craft that takes a lot of patience and focus. When it comes to stitching designs, you're usually stuck with the old-fashioned house with the white picket fence, or the generic stitched red heart. With our new line of Stitchery Kits, you won't be disappointed! We've come up with modern and unique designs that will stand out like a sore thimble (in good way). Each packaged design comes with the embroidery hoop, canvas wrap, and all the thread you could possibly need to create these colorful artworks. The best part about these designs, is that they are pre-printed on the canvas provided, so you don't have to worry about being off on your line work! Just follow the lines, and watch as your embroidered piece jumps off the hoop. That's what makes this craft so relaxing, you don't have to worry about completing a whole section in one day for fear of losing your place. You can pick it up and craft any time you want, and pick up right where you started. It's kind of a similar feeling to finishing a Diamond Art Canvas, but you can read all about that in our last therapeutic benefits blog (The Therapeutic Benefits of Diamond Art).
Punch Needle is a great traditional needle craft that has taken a modern twist recently, as you can see above! Modern Punch Needle by Bérénice Robert shows us how to take the Punch Needle craft and reinvent it to make it look fresh and new with bold colors and fun textures. This craft is as easy as buying the items and stitching away to your design! You can add a new abstract throw pillow to your couch, or embellish your favorite purse or jacket the choices are endless for incorporating this craft into your daily life. Not only will the benefits of trying this craft become a meditative practice for you, but you'll have a comfy and cute accessory for your wardrobe or home décor.
This project from Hoops Hooray is a great example of reinvention of needle craft materials. This project uses traditional sewing materials like an embroidery hoop, and transforms it into a great way to de-clutter your crafting area! Needle Crafting doesn't have to be these grandiose projects that take forever to make. You can start with fun, small projects like these that not only help you practice your simple stitching skills, but help you organize and, in turn, relax.
When you get comfortable with those beginner needle craft projects, you can move onto more intricate projects like this project from Quilted Wall Hangings!
