I can't believe it's been over a year since I wrote a post about knitting podcasts you should listen to, but it has. But here's another one: Yarn Thing with Marly Bird! And! And! Yesterday, her show featured an interview with Susan Sullivan, the Editorial Vice President of Leisure Arts!

This was really fun to listen to and there's a giveaway at the end. The episode is a bit on the long side (86 minutes!), but whatever. It's the weekend and this is a pleasant thing to listen to while you work on your weekend projects.
I really enjoyed listening to this, especially the parts where Susan Sullivan talks with Marly Bird about how Leisure Arts was created (by a lady! Woo!), her crafting background and position in Leisure Arts, and--of course--the Knook.
Bonus: hearing about working with Debbie Macomber, super technical marketing strategies presented in an understandable and simple manner, and all the ways in which Leisure Arts, its publications, and its online presence are just super awesome.
Extra super awesome bonus: hearing about the publishing industry, how Leisure Arts works with designers, and crafting trends. Maybe that's just me. But I'm always interested in learning more about those things, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing these pros talk about them.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit how much I learned about Leisure Arts from this interview, but I'm pretty sure this isn't the dumbest thing I've told you on this blog. And besides, this was a really interesting talk between two crafters. Be sure to check it out this weekend, and to subscribe to the Yarn Thing Podcast!
Have a happy weekend!
