Ease of Knooking
I found the Knook to be easy to use. A bit confusing to the 1 child I am teaching to use it, but another one caught on in no time at all. I am sure this product will become a great asset for my teaching to an Autistic child. I will not give up trying and I know he wont either. Thank you for this wonderful idea. Knitting and crocheting are a passion I am thrilled with and this makes it easy for my grandchildren to do both at the same time.. I have 3 grandchildren very much interested in both crafts. This kills 2 birds with one stone.. Thank you so much.

Fun to learn something new - The Knook!
Have started making a scarf with the Knook. Garter stitch going well. Have not mastered purling stitch, as yet, but will. Have been asked by members of my quilting and knitting groups what I have been working with and showed them the Knook package I received. They were interested. Suggested they look in up on-line to learn how to use the product. Like it!

Why I LOVE the Knook.
If you struggle with knitting, prefer loom knitting versus needles, or you can crochet and have not sucessfully learned knitting, buy this! I personaly am much more comfortable with a hook and the knook allows me to have my cake and eat it too.

First and foremost this type of knitting has a wonderful drape to it that you will not find in traditional knitting methods and it works in a way that is very comfortable for weavers and crocheters.

What you are basically doing is casting on as if you were about to start Tunesian Crochet. Then you simply knit each stitch individually along the cord attached to the hook in much the same way as traditional knitting. The only differences being that you are using a crochet hook instead of a knitting needle, and that your stitches will be picked up along the crochet hook and the attached cord.

At the end of each row you push the knitting down off the hook and onto the cord - there should now be two rows of cord in your knitting. The next step is to pull the bottom portion of the cord out of the knitting and not move the top portion of the cord or else you will loose the stitches you just knit hence unraveling your work. Turn your work over and start your next row as if you were going to crochet with the cord in front of your yarn. This way you are knitting and not purling.

If you have had your stitches fall off the cord then your cord is too short and you need a longer piece of it. Preferably I like to have 12 inches of cord hang along the left side of my work (I'm right handed). I found out the hard way that if I don't give myself 12 inches that I will run out of cord before I finish my row and loose my stitches.

When I couldn't see my stitches it was because they were too tight, and I wasn't using a big enough crochet hook. (I'm really lucky that I have relatives who knit and crochet that straightened me out on this.) They told me to pull the cord straight and then dig my hook into the loop going directly over the cord, complete that row and then switch to a bigger hook.

Don't worry about dropping stitches. It's much easier to fix your mistakes with this then with traditional knitting. If you drop a stitch you just pick it back up on the next row. If you decide to take your work off the cord and rip out the mistake, when you're done you just thread the cord into a needle and run it back through the loops. -- This product is a big plus for klutzy knitters. I love it.

Makes knitting accessible to everyone
I bought this product with my daughters in mind. They want to knit like mommy, but they couldn't maneuver the two needles. This makes it possible for them to truly knit. I don't like the reviews by "knitting snobs" that dismiss this product because they think "real" knitting is easier/better. As knitters we should embrace anyone who wants to join the club, whatever method they choose to employ.

Not what I expected
I wasn't sure what this was going to be, I was excited to find out- once you get going, this is really cool. you can knit without knitting. I have no patience for knitting so... When I have more time Im going to try other patterns and stitches and alter them for the knook. The ONLY thing I didnt really like about this product was a wooden hook, personal issues make the sound a bit iffy at first, but when the hook gets warn...

At last! A solution for natural crocheters!
I’m a total crochet addict, who has failed multiple times at mastering the art of using two needles. As the daughter of an expert knitter, this has always really bothered me -- but there it is, I just don’t like using knitting needles.

My basic knook set arrived in the mail a week ago, and I took to it like a duck to water. Hurrah! Knit patterns, here I come!

About the Knook beginner set
I like the hooks are made of wood. The instructions are very clear. Even though, I know how to crochet and you need to use the hook in a different position I got the hang of it fairly easy. I know how to knit too. However, using the knook is faster.
I'm happy with them. After the holidays I'll start a project.

Love my Knook!
I am having so much fun learning to use my Knook! I already know how to crochet, but don't know how to knit. The Knook lets you do both at the same time! I love this concept!

Easy to learn
I've been a crocheter for year and have done sum knitting. I like the idea of the knook and was very easy to learn.

left hander knooking in less than 1 hr.
I am a crocheter, self taught. I also taught myself to knit over thirty yrs. ago. But, I liked to crochet better and continued that throughout the yrs. Knitting I soon forgot and today I have trouble , mostly with the stiffnessa of the needles. The knook turns one needle into a easily handled tool that won' t drop the stitches like a needle so easily does. I was knooking with ease in less than one hr. after opening the package!

For Those Who Don't "Get" Knitting
I got the beginner set with my daughters in mind. I knit and crochet, and my girls crochet, the the 2 needles in knitting seems to stymie them.

I know my 11- and 9 year-old will be able to pick this up quickly. I think it might take the 7 year old a little longer because going through the loops with only the string holding them open takes a bit of dexterity.

The videos were a great help. I love that it is included - you don't have to buy a class to get the visual instruction. For those who know how to crochet, you have to slow down and pay attention, because it is different.

I think this is a great product for those who want to knit but just can't get the hang of it. My girls are going to love it!

Knook review
The product arrived in very good time. It is well made. I crochet and knit so I will have to practice this new technique before I feel comfortable using it, but it is fairly simple to catch on. Cant wait to be able to use this as easily as knitting and crocheting.

can't wait to try it for myself
A friend asked if I had heard of the knook and it was several months before we found the product. Since you released the beginner set about a year ago, I have purchsed several kits for friends, but have yet to try one for myself. Hobby Lobby has begun to sell kits in our town, but I have not seen the instruction/pattern books. Thanks so much for the give-a-way. What an unexpected bonus!

Knack for the Knook
I wasn't sure about the Knook. I'm a crocheter, but, have always tried to knit without success. Two needles just bumfuzzle me. Y'all got to believe me when I say that the Knook is teaching me knitting from a crocheter's perspective! I'm hardly an expert, but I am understanding the stitches better than before. I wish the hooks were metal, though. The wood seems to drag too much against the yarn. I hope one day soon larger knooks will come available for the chunkier yarns and finer knooks for sock yarns. All in all, I'm glad I got the chance to try this. Now all those nice knitted patterns are not going to be beyond my skills for much longer! Thank You!

knooking my new passion!
I have been playing with this for a week now. Started outlook loose but I'm getting much better at it and I really enjoy it. I knit and crochet. Always. Preferd knitting until now. Yes it's a bit slower. I don't really Care .I'm more interested that my project when finished looks good. I like the hooks and I wish they had more available. And an option for wood or metal. I actually like the wood better but if they had an addi type I would be purchasing both. Someone else said wood is not for everything and she is very correct. Knocking is easier on my hands especially the wood, and it stays on the cord nicely. I'm not happy withthe cords either. They pull against the hook and are starting to Frey. Please don't put down knocking as second class knitting. It gives the desired results easier just a bit slower and for me that's ok. And it works with knitting patterns so there's no shortage of those.oh I just LOVE Knooking! <3

Freedom to knit- finally!
I love my knook! I'm finally able to do all those charity knit patterns I've had my eye on for ages. I love crocheting but could never make the jump to two sticks (the 'proper' way) so assumed knitting was for others and never for me.

The knook changed all of that! With the same movements as crochet I can now make knitted fabric AND it's faster than knitting ever was for me. I don't have to worry if I have to get up and leave my work- or even roll it up and put it in my Yarn Drum to head out to a friend's house- I don't drop stitches at all.

One thing I would change would be to offer options on hook design. I have been crocheting long enough to have a preference in hook styles and it would be lovely to have that option with the knook too. Perhaps a 'slim line' hook design and also a 'straight line' hook design option?

I'd also love to see an aluminum option as bamboo isn't perfect for all yarn fiber types.

left vs right
The only problem I have is that I crochet right handed and I knit left handed. This creates some issues on my end but the product itself is great.

Now I've got the hang of it...
Bought this many months ago because I have tried to knit and find it frustrating compared to crochet. Originally was disappointed with the book (rather booklet) expected it to teach me all the techniques rather than just the knit and purl stitch.
Have since found several free instruction videos on Youtube and am knooking along nicely. The knook hooks are bamboo, which I don't like because I find they feel like they are catching on the wool. I hope in the future to be able to buy aluminium hooks in other sizes, a smoother hook would make it easier.

A Great Way to Learn a New Skill
It's easy to use and the instructions are very easy to follow. I just wish the patterns were a more unique, but I also understand it is a begiiner's guide. I've been crocheting for a long time and have wanted to learn how to knit. This is an easier way for me to knit than using needles. As an instructor I would teach a class only if the student(s) were ready for advanced techniques.
