Quality is lacking.
I bought this knook set because I liked how complete it was and you can't buy knooks of different sizes in stores where I live. I think they work OK, they feel kind of cheap in my hand and the smaller sizes feel like they are going to snap in half as I use them and are very bendy. The cords start to fray at the ends and they were getting caught on my work when I pulled it through. I'm not sure what I think of the knook. I am an experienced crocheter and beginning knitter and was wanting to learn something new, but so far I have found it to be a little frustrating and prefer traditional crochet and to knit with knitting needles.

A Sock pattern is needed
I have not experienced any issues using the knook needles. Actually the needles are easy to use. I guess I got a good set, no burr or nicks that catches my yarn. I have made a couple of spa rags and love them they are excellent to exfoliate your face, but can be used anywhere on the body. I would like to challenge someone to come up with a sock pattern using the knook.

Much better than the wooden Knook hooks
I had originally bought the Beginner Expanded Set to see how I liked doing my knitting with a Knook and found I liked the technique, even though it was slower than actually knitting but with my loss of vision I'd had to stop knitting as it was frustrating dropping stitches, etc. The only problem was one wooden Knook was split where the thread eye was and another had burrs on the hook area that my husband had to sand off. Both these caused catching on the tread and yarn. The one with the split at the eye was the H size so the one most of the patterns call for you to use and my threads were all ragged and frayed from the projects I'd made already. I was hoping the plastic ones might be in better shape and the eye for the thread is much bigger although still difficult for me to do myself. There is a burr where the plastic was injected into the mold for manufacturing but that was easy for hubby to remove and I'm halfway though my first project using a plastic Knnok and it's going very well!

Great value!
This is much better than the wooden is rough & catches the cord & yarn.
Now, where do I learn how to Knook???

What a pleasure
Love starting to knit with the knook. Still doing some practicing before I start anything major but it is so easy. Eager to try all sorts of knitting patterns.

although I haven't had the chance to try them yet, because of all the holiday shopping, I really like them. I did purchase the bamboo ones, however found that they break easily during use. These are stronger and like the plastic crochet hooks should last a long time.

Give the knook a try
This is an ingenious way to combine two distinctly different crafts into a new dimension. It is worth the investment to create new and interesting projects.

Great set
I love having Knooks in all kinds of sizes now. I do prefer the bamboo that my first Knooks were made of but having the various sizes is good too.

Everything you need to knook
This set contains everything that you need to knook. Very happy with it and would recommend it to everyone who wants to learn this crochet technique that looks like it was knitted.

Excellent set of Knooks
I spent the past week playing around with this set of Knook hooks and I love them. They're even smoother than the wooden hooks so the yarn glides along nicely. I already have the wooden ones and the "kids" set, so a comparison was easy to do.

I especially liked the large selection in this set since it has a couple of sizes that didn't previously come in any set, such as the K and one that's just labeled as a 7. The 7 is between the size G and H hooks and seems to be the one that works the best for me when using with cotton yarns. The smallest hook is also useful in making heavier socks...I'd use something other than fingering weight though, such as fine or sport weight yarn for that. The cords are plenty long enough for Knooking "in the round" to make socks or mittens without having to sew up a seam. The smaller hooks have a little more flexibility to them, which may help tighten up the gauge if you're having problems with that. The ease which the hook part goes through the yarn may also help tighten the gauge a little.

The cables also seem to be easier to thread through the hole in the hooks than the wooden ones are. Plus the fact that they're actually color coded so you know which cord to use with each hook is a nice little bonus.

The only thing missing from this kit is the clips to put on the end of the cords to keep stitches from falling off if you're making a large item. That's not a problem since I already have some from the other kits, and they're easy enough to find in any store.
