Michele Maks

Mother | Designer | Craft-Enthusiast

A crochet and knit designer since 1985, Michele Maks has lost count of the thousands of creations she has made, but she hasn’t lost her enthusiasm. “The next project is always the most exciting!” she says. “I never work on one thing at a time. I’m probably most fascinated by (dare I say it?) granny squares!” Her designs have appeared in magazines, books, and yarn industry publications. “Having opinionated children and teaching let me know what worked style-wise and from a stitcher’s point of view – both extremely helpful as reality checks!” A diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2009 hasn't stopped her. “Crochet has been a constant solace in battling the effects of this disease,” she says.
