Finished Size: 61/2" x 56" (16.5 cm x 142 cm)

MATERIALS

Bulky Weight Yarn [31/2 ounces, 108 yards

(100 grams, 99 meters) per hank]: 5 hanks

Straight knitting needles, size 9 (5.5 mm) or size needed for gauge

GAUGE:In Stockinette Stitch,

14 sts and 23 rows = 4" (10 cm)

MUFFLER

Cast on 23 sts.

Rows 1-3: K1, (P1, K1) across.

Row 4: K1, P1, (K9, P1) twice, K1.

Row 5: K1, P1, K1, (P7, K1, P1, K1) twice.

Repeat Rows 4 and 5 for pattern until Muffler measures approximately 551/2" (141 cm) from cast on edge or to desired length minus 1/2" (12 mm), ending by working Row 4.

Last 3 Rows: K1, (P1, K1) across.

Bind off all sts in pattern.
