Cable Crosses Afghan Designs

Finished Size: 45" x 60" (114.5 cm x 152.5 cm)

MATERIALS
Medium Weight Yarn: 30 ounces, 1,975 yards (850 grams, 1,806 meters) 29" (73.5 cm)
Circular knitting needles, size 17 (12.75 mm) or size needed for gauge
Cable needle

Note: Afghan is worked holding two strands of yarn together.

GAUGE: In Stockinette Stitch, 9 sts and 12 rows = 4" (10 cm)

STITCH GUIDE
CABLE (uses 4 sts)
Slip next 2 stitches onto cable needle and hold in back of work, K2 from left needle, K2 from cable needle.

AFGHAN
Cast on 106 sts.

Rows 1-5: Knit across.

Row 6 (Right side): K5, P2, K2, P2, (K4, P2, K2, P2) across to last 5 sts, K5.

Row 7: K7, P2, (K2, P4, K2, P2) across to last 7 sts, K7.

Row 8: K5, P2, K2, P2, (K4, P2, K2, P2) across to last 5 sts, K5.

Row 9: K7, P2, (K2, P4, K2, P2) across to last 7 sts, K7.

Row 10: K5, P1, K4, (P2, K2, P2, K4) across to last 6 sts, P1, K5.

Row 11: K6, P4, (K2, P2, K2, P4) across to last 6 sts, K6.

Row 12: K5, P1, K4, (P2, K2, P2, K4) across to last 6 sts, P1, K5.

Row 13: K6, P4, (K2, P2, K2, P4) across to last 6 sts, K6.

Repeat Rows 10-25 for pattern until Afghan measures approximately 58" (147.5 cm) from cast on edge, ending by working Row 21.

Last 5 Rows: Knit across.

Bind off all sts.
